Department History

L.T.K. College was established on 22nd August, 1977 and is permanently affiliated to Dibrugarh University. The Department of Home Science was established in the year 1994 and the Major courses were started in 2014. Since the establishement of the Department  six batched has sucessfully completed B.A. in Home Science with and overall pass percentage of 100 and 23 nos of students secured 1st class. The Department offers Certificate Courses, Diploma Courses and B.Voc in Food Processing.

The department of Home Science mainly focusing on imparting knowledge, skills, and attitudes, necessary for the practice of Home Science professions. We will prepare our graduates with the knowledge, skills, and values to work with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities in ways that respect, enhance, and support human dignity, is oriented toward strengths-based and relational understandings and practices, and guided by principles of human rights and social justice. The students manifest their progressive competency, they then can spread for and complete the required semesters.

To progress of the society both intellectually and economically through dissemination and transmission of knowledge from generation to generation and to exhibit professional ethics, commitment and leadership qualities.
