History: 

The department of physics was established in the year 1994. At present, the department has the strength of four experienced faculty members with three permanent and one contractual faculty. The department offers   B.Sc. Physics course both for honors and Generic Elective under the affiliation of Dibrugarh University (CBCS system). The department plays an active role in science-based activities conducted by the college. There exists a good environment between teacher- students which provide help to create a good academic environment. The departmental library is very helpful to cater needs of the students. The department holds departmental seminars, and guardian meetings regularly. The department publishes a wall magazine annually named “SPECTRUM”.

To promote a quality educational environment, that ensures all students to get an opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge, and an attitude that will be helpful to become successful citizens.

To create, develop and enhance a high-quality educational environment that will provide advanced technological and professional education leading to an academic degree. Our mission is to develop a mindset among the students who look at the future, learn from the past, and practice in the present.

Departmental Activities :

a) Webinar cum hands-on workshop on: ‘Study of climate parameters and their changes over North East India’,28^th April 2022.

b) The department organizes freshmen social, teachers' day and educational tour, etc. in every year.

c) The department along with its students publishes a wall magazine named “Spectrum” during the college week.

d) Conducts student seminars for evaluation of IA marks.
