UNESCO Center Inaugurated at L.T.K. College, Azad, Lakhimpur 

— A Milestone in Academic and Global Engagement — 

We are proud to announce that a full-fledged UNESCO Center has been officially inaugurated at L.T.K. College, Azad, Lakhimpur, under the banner of the RCUN-NER UNESCO Association, Guwahati. The inauguration ceremony took place on 7th April 2025, and was graciously led by Dr. Aswini Kumar Sarma, Executive Director of the Association. Leadership Roles Announced Dr. Bubul Kumar Saikia (Principal, L.T.K. College) – Appointed as Patron Dr. Debajit Dutta (Head, Department of Chemistry) – Appointed as State Coordinator (Zone 4) Key Highlights of the Inauguration Three Minor Research Projects sanctioned under the leadership of: Dr. Debajit Dutta Dr. Poli Baruah Dr. Himajyoti Doley 80 Distinguished Professionals from diverse fields honored with Lifetime Membership Announcement of a UN Library to be inaugurated shortly, equipped with resources from: UNESCO WHO UNICEF Other international bodies
This UNESCO Center is set to become a platform for academic research, cultural exchange, and international educational initiatives in Northeast India. L.T.K. College is steadily progressing towards academic excellence through teamwork and a shared vision. The topic of the research was “Implementation of Activity Based Teaching LearningApproach in Social Science at Secondary Level School in Assam”.

Congratulations to Dr.BidishaKataki, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology for being awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Zoology by North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. The topic of the research was “Seasonal and photoperiodic expression of tsh-β, dio2 and dio3 genes in the regulation of reproduction in tree sparrow, Passer montanus L.”
