To popularize and awareness of Biotechnology in the NE region, the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India has provided fund to establish the Biotech Hub in institutions of NE region. L.T.K College has been selected for establishing an 'Institutional Biotech Hub' in the year 2013-2014 under the special scheme. Subsequently, the college has established a Biotech Hub. The Centre is well equipped with a Biotechnology Laboratory with basic sets of equipment support for the site preparation as well as a budget for procuring chemicals, organizing workshops etc. The objective of the Centre is to provide instrumentation facilities to students, teachers and others for Biotechnology research, training, understanding, study and development of life science and different branches of Biological Science. The setup is capable of functioning 24 hours a day and is backed up with an uninterrupted power supply system

ACTIVITIES 

 The Biotech Hub of L.T.K. College holds periodical workshops and training programmes for sensitization and exposure to Modern Biology tools to the interested newcomers in the field as well as holding and organizing advanced training schedules with interactive participation of National and Regional resource persons.
